Bij Jeff Caramagna is het werk niet klaar als hij zijn schilderij heeft gemaakt. Nee, dan begint het pas. Het resultaat is een aan het kubisme en futurisme gerelateerde bron van kleuren die diepe emoties oproept bij ieder die er naar kijkt.

De artiest is afgestudeerd aan de universiteit van Yale en woont en werkt vooral vanuit New York. Daar zijn ook de meesten van zijn tentoonstellingen, al waren zijn laatste twee wapenfeiten in Massachusetts en New Jersey.

Caramagna zelf over zijn werk:
"My work creates experiences for the viewer that endeavors to inspire the dwarfing of the individual witness both visually and metaphysically. I paint my subjects from the inside out – capturing their essence. My recent work depicts the intense optimism inherent in feminine energy. My earlier work taps into the terror often evoked by the fiercest of natural predators. My process unites classic principals of figure painting while admitting to the influences of science and technology to create sculpture on canvas."

Caramagna:
"In fine tuning my technique over the years, I constantly challenge the brush to compete with widely accessible visual technology. The genesis of each piece is the photograph. When interpreted through my lens the result is a three dimensional object of realism preserving the geometric integrity assisted by technology while also providing the intense emotional experience that can only be told through the interpretive eye. An essential byproduct of my process is an intricate visual mapping system that accompanies each image. The map itself is the foundation for both the hard and soft variables that ultimately comprise my final work. Alchemy is achieved by unifying my disciplined process with the constant desire to visually challenge and inspire my viewers."
